In Reverence of the Sacred

Rosemary Kimble: Drawing inspiration from the complexities of human experience, I use my lens to capture images that invite introspection and conversation. It is meant to celebrate the coexistence of joy and sorrow, light and shadow, and invites us to reimagine the world through multiple perspectives.

However, the themes I find most captivating invite viewers to reconsider their perception of mystical realms, blurring the line between reality and imagination. I strive to capture the magic that exists in the everyday.

Artists Note:

A photograph of a fragment of a sacred item, though incomplete, evokes a sense of a larger whole, inviting the viewer to imagine the rituals, beliefs, and lives intertwined with its history. The Ghost Dance shirt was a sacred garment worn by Sioux Warriors in the late 19th century, believed to offer spiritual protection and render the wearer impervious to bullets. Acting as a portal, the image serves as a reminder of the enduring mystery that the Ghost Dance shirt holds, carrying forward the intangible energies and reverence once imbued in the object.
